Often difficulties are just opportunities in disguise
Often difficulties are just opportunities in disguise. -Gary Starkweather
I saw this quote from a fortune cookie last week. I wanted to keep it but the small paper was lost. I couldn't remember what the exact words were. I stumbled upon it again and this time I'm saving it.
Today, I was reading a New Yorker article on innovation. It tells the story of the "windows" concept, the mouse and how Steve Jobs used the idea for the Macintosh. Jobs first saw a demo in his visit to XEROX PARC in the late 80s. Near the end of the article, the writer was interviewing Gary Starkweather. Gary sent an email containing the quote (above) after the interview.
Note: Gary Starkweather was an American inventor famous for the creation of the laser printer. You can read more about him [here](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gary_Starkweather), [here](http://www.crn.com/news/channel-programs/18838549/gary-starkweather-laser-printer-inventor.htm) and [here](http://history-computer.com/ModernComputer/Basis/laser_printer.html).A very quick Google search shows that the quote is directly from him. I'm not sure whether there is a quote similar but more famous. There are quotes with similar ideas but nothing that was timeless. Regardless if it was first or not, it is an inspiring line.
